City on the Move

For the second edition of the Brescia Bike Festival, the Brescia Mobilità Group in partnership with the Municipality of Brescia organised "La città in Movimento" (City on the Move), an entertaining tour that saw the participation of over 200 students and 5 schools.

The event, which was part of the project of the same name funded by the Lombardy Region and supported by the Brescia City Times and Schedules Office, was held on Friday, 21 September 2018 in Largo Formentone where the children of middle and high schools can explore the world of two wheels from unusual and unexpected angles amongst booths dedicated to mechanics, science, ecology and well-being.

During the event a competition open to students of all ages was launched for the development of creative ideas to promote cycling. More specifically, students have been asked to produce a video or a poster that promotes the positive aspects of bicycles and the choice of travelling by bike. All the works produced and received by Brescia Mobilità will be published first on a special virtual bulletin board created specifically for the purpose and subsequently displayed at the next edition of the Brescia Bike Festival.

For classes, on the other hand, in the final months of the year there will be the possibility to take part in the workshop "You wanted a bicycle?": an actor and a mechanic will accompany the kids through memories associated with bicycles, and the students will be guided in the construction of their personal bicycle, which will become a symbol of independence and freedom.
