10 NEW ELECTRIC BUSES TO BRESCIA THANKS TO PNRR FUNDS

The Brescia Mobilità Group's fleet renewal process continues: 10 new electric buses have been purchased thanks to the resources of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) assigned to the Municipality of Brescia. The new vehicles will enter service immediately and will be recognizable by their livery “The new green fleet”.

The investment helps make city public transport increasingly sustainable: each new electric bus helps avoid the emission of 34.9 tons of CO₂ per year, a value equivalent to the annual absorption of approximately 1,586 trees.

The new vehicles will replace older vehicles, also helping to reduce the average age of the fleet dedicated to local public transport, which will increase from 7.42 to 6.74 years.

The new electric buses

The 10 new 12-metre IVECO E-WAY are equipped with five lithium battery packs, with a total capacity of 349 kWh and a range of over 300 kilometres.

On board there are solutions designed to improve comfort, technology and safety: high-insulation panoramic glazing, LED interior and exterior lighting, USB sockets, passenger counting systems, video surveillance and advanced driver assistance devices.

With the introduction of new electric buses, the Municipality of Brescia and the Brescia Mobilità Group are taking a further step towards more sustainable, safe, comfortable, and technologically advanced public transport.
